    exponential distribution

Let X1,....,Xn be iid with pdf (2x/\theta)*exp(-x^2/theta)

I have to find the distribution of X^2 but first i'm trying to figure out the distribution of this pdf. Is it a exp (\theta/x)?

    Hello,

I don't think it has a name. You can't put x in the parameter of the distribution.
You don't always have to find the name of a distribution before working on it...

But I think X will follow an exponential distribution :P

What technique do I use to find the distribution of x^2? Just need a hint to get started.

    Thanks
