    I can't work out the SD of this question

    The random variable X has a variance of 2.4

    Let Y = 5X + 7.6

    What is the standard deviation of Y?

    Please show me how to work out

    Things you're expected to know:

    Var(aX + b) = a^2 Var(X)

    sd(aX + b) = |a| sd(X)
