# Math Help - query about regression

Can any one please tell me?

“How to calculate coefficient of independent variable in non linear regression?”

For example I want to calculate value of y

Y=a + b*x1 + c*x2 + d*x3

Here;

Y= Dependant variable
a, b, c, d = constant

x1, x2, x3= independent variable.

In this case how to calculate value of a, b, c and d. If you have any idea please tell me how to calculate it

2. I'm not sure what you're asking either.
This is linear regression and it seems that you want to find the estimates of those constants.

3. yes....i wanted to calculate values of constants(coefficients). but for non-linear equation.

4. well that model is linear
What is your NON linear model that you want to use to estimate the data?

5. my equation is

y=a*e^(b*x)

e=exponential
y=defendant variable
x is independent variable
a and b are constant

just take the log

$\ln y=\ln a +bx$ is linear and use what you know to estimate these constants
