    Binomial Distribution Problem

    Hi, can someone help me answer the following problem?

    In a softball tournament, games are limited to 6 innings and players are restricted to at most 1 bat per inning. Let Y be the number of times a player bats per game with a binomial distribution and probability of 0.8. The number of hits he gets, X, also follows a binomial distribution with probability 0.3.

    Find the mean and variance of X.

    I'm guessing that 'probability of 0.8' is the chance he/she bat in any one inning?
    And the .3 is the chance of getting a hit from that at-bat.
    You need to condition X on Y.
