Independent random samples from two normal populations produced the variance listed here:
Sample size-1: 16 Sample variance: 55.7
Sample size-2: 20 Sample variance: 31.4

a) Do the data provide sufficient evidence to indicate that σ12 differs from σ22 . test using alpha=0.05.

b) Find the approximate p-value for the test and interpret its value.

Take the ratio of the two sample variances and use an F with 15,19 degrees of freedom.
There are online links for stat calculators that will help you obtain the p-value.
