Given the probability distribution:

p (x) = ax^n ,0 ≤ x ≤1, for a positive integer n

What does it mean to normalize p(x) and how would I develop an expression for "a" that normalizes p(x)? Thank you in advance.

Find the value of $a$ such that $\int_{0}^1 a x^n \, dx = 1$.
