2. A box contains n = g + b + m pancakes, where g, b, and m are positive integers. Of the n
pancakes, g of them are golden brown on both sides, b of them are brown on both sides, and m of them are
“mixed” (one side golden brown, one side brown). You select one pancake at random and look at one side
of it; that side is brown. What is the probability that the other side is also brown? (Write your answer in
terms of g, b, m,
3 .I tell you that, for two events A and B, P(A \ B) = 0.3, P(B | A) = 0.5, and that A and
B are independent. For each statement, say “True”, “False”, or “Can’t Tell”, and give a reason for your
answer.
(i). A and B are mutually exclusive
(ii). A and A [ B are independent
(iii). P(B) = P(A | B)
(iv). P(A | B) > P(B | A)
(v). P(B) </=P(A)
