    Transcendental Equation-Mathlab

    How do I get the solutions for the following transcendental equation in Mathlab:



    When l=1,2

    Please help me.

    Define the function handle for the anonemous function you need the zero of:

    fnH=@(x) (cot(x)-(x^2-1)/2*x))

    then as the root of this is between 0 and pi use:

    fzero(fnH,1)

    (type "help function_handle" and/or "help fzero" at the command prompt for more information)
