    Book for measure theory

    Hello all,

I am looking for a good introductory book for measure theory and integration. I have looked at very many books and they all lack one thing: a solid buildup to the topic and applications. I am looking for a book which takes a slow a gradual approach in motivating the subject and including a much more pedagogical buildup.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks.

My favorite text for measure theory and integration was one designed and used by a professor Paul Loya at Binghamton University in New York. A friend of mine is friends with Dr. Loya and recommended the book to me when I was looking for a refresher. I cannot find where I placed my original, but I found it again here:

    I have two suggestions:
    i) Measure, Integration, and Functional Analysis by Robert Ash

ii) Measure and Integration by S.K.Berberian

Both are classics. The first is more basic than the second.
