Question Power in circuits! How to use the signs!?

    Given this circuit...

    Circuit values are also given...

I'm trying to determine the total power absorbed by the elements and the total power delivered by the elements.

My understanding is that p = iv is used for elements that ARE passive (current i leaves the negative terminal of the element). Power is positive for elements that absorb power from the circuit.

Also, p = -iv is used for elements that deliver power (current i leaves the positive terminal of the element). Power is negative for elements that are sources (non-passive elements).

From what I can see; element h absorbs power; so, I used p = iv.

However, p = (-585)(82.5*10-3) isn't a positive value? Elements that absorb should have a positive power?

How to interpret these signs? Been annoying me for too long.
