Thread: Help me please!

Hi ,
Is there a field in maths studies the relationship between a group of numbers or matrices?
for example, we have two materices:
a = (1,4,6,88)
b = (2,8,12,176)
It's obvious that when we multiply each element in a by 2 we get b elements.
Another example to clarify what I need:

7
(When we add 2 to each number we get the next one)
These are simple examples. Are there some mathematical rules help in getting more complex relationships?

I'm not really sure what you're asking now.
Your last example is what we call a sequence and is related to series.
Matrix calculations are a subject of lineair algebra, althoug they have many applications.

What I need is :
The mathematics field that study prediction. I found a lot of subjects like Lagrange Interpolation Formula but it's difficult to understand. I heared that LPC (Linear Prediction Coding) can be used to estimate and predict un-sequential numbers.
Can you explain it to me in plain english or is there a site talking about it clearly.
