Overall there are 16 weights, where 14 weights weigh the same and another 2 weights which also weigh the same but of different weight than the 14 weights. There is only one weighing scale, what is the range of number of tries to find out which is the 2 weights? My answer is from the range of 4 to 8. Anyone can get a smaller range? Please help!

Let's identify the 14 items of like weight as A-weights, and the remaining two as B-weights. Now, you have proposed the existance of a method by which one might isolate the two b-weights following only four 'trips to the scale'. Would you kindly explain the methodology? Are we weighing only one item at a time? I propose the range at 5-14.
