"Homogeneous" in that context means having the same density throughout. A Gömböc is a convex object, made from a material of uniform density, with exactly one stable equilibrium position and one unstable equilibrium position, when placed on a flat level surface (unlike say a Tumbling Weeble, whose self-righting property depends on the density being greater at the base than at the top).

Interesting question! I had not previously heard of a Gömböc.
