Thread: Bouncing Ball

There was a thread some time ago discussing the coefficient of restitution
of a ball.

In that thread it was suggested that we conduct an experiment. This I
did recording the event with a digital camera running in video mode.

This video was split into individual frames, and finally today I have created
a single frame showing the motion of the ball in every other frame (the frame
rate was 15 frames/second). This such as it is is shown in the attachment.

It looks like a solution to a differencial equation when there is no critical damping.

(That is CaptainBlank's favorite purple t-shirt which he always wears in his pictures. Do not worry I also dress the same all year round because I hate these fashion people.)

I'm afraid the colour balance on your monitor must be off, it was blue
that week, the purple one was in the wash
