    A ship that weighs 10,000 tons (mass displace what volume of fresh water in order to float?

    It will displace a volume of water who's weight is equal to the weight of the
    ship.

    Now the density of fresh water is 1 metric ton per cubic metre, so a
    10000 metric ton ship will displace 10000 cubic metres of water.
