For a particular Hamiltonian H and potential V the Schrodinger equation is partial differential equation. It doesn't help solve other equations, it helps solve physical problems.Quote:

The Schroedinger can be used for example for particles in potential wells, for example an electron in the potential of a nucleus.
Depending on the potential, you can use different methods to solve the Schroedinger.
This kind of question is pretty vague to answer. For example in my collection of books I have two introductory Quantum Mechanics texts with a total of nearly 900 pages between them, requiring some 4 or 5 college semesters of Math and Physics background to understand.Quote:
