I am trying to map latitude and longitude to a map in Matlab. The map is an image (can be jpg, tif, any), and is only over a small area (~2miles by ~2miles) so the range in latitude and longitude is small. I was trying to "map" my long. and lat. data to the data points on the image (pixels) using best fit equations, but the error is too great. Does anyone know how to put an image as the background for a figure with axis that I can define (instead of the automatic pixel #s as axis)? Or any suggestions on how to make this task easier?
