    i am stuck on question 15. i am not sure which directions the reactions at the pegs are going in.
    so far i have let forces up on the system = forces down so c*cosa+3w=dcosa where c and d are the reactions on the pegs. this might not even be right.

    I can confirm the result of part (i) is correct ... I used the attached FBD along with $\displaystyle \sum F_y = 0$ and $\displaystyle \sum \tau_a = 0$ Note the reaction forces at $c$ and $d$ are perpendicular to the rod.

    Now, see what you can do with it.
