Mathematical modelling - strength of materials

It has been 42 years since I found it necessary to employ mathematical modelling to solve a problem. At the time, I was pretty good at assembling assumptions, approximations and equations. All that knowledge is now avery faint memory - I am in need of guidance on which text books best cover the subject in the field of strength of materials.

Re: Mathematical modelling - strength of materials

Any good text on material science? A range of mechanical engineering texts would also be useful.
