# mathematical model

Hi,
I have this problem about creating a mathematical model.
the context is fourier series/transform.
It is about finding the hourly temperature mathematical model.
I have attached the file. I tried to search for fourier model for temperatures but I had no sucess.
Can I have some suggestions so that I can start the problem please?

$\displaystyle T(t) = A(m) \left[ a_0/2 + \sum_{n=1}^{\infty}a_n \cos(n \pi t/12) + a_n \sin(n \pi t/12) \right]$

where $\displaystyle A(m)$ represents the median daily temprature index for month $\displaystyle m$, and the term inside the square brackets represents the daily variation in temprature with time $\displaystyle t$ in hours.

Take November as the reference month as you have hourly temprature data for a 48 hour period in november, then $\displaystyle A(Nov)=1$, and:

$\displaystyle A(m) = \mbox{MedianTemp} (m)/ \mbox{MedianTemp} (Nov)$
