Do you have any data to form an equation from?

Energy transmitted by the blood  Heat loss through the skin
Energy  blood flow through the lungs
Blood flow  to pulse rate as well as size of the heart

Yes, its states that the smaller the heart is the faster the pulse is. Thats refering to small animals. While much larger animals have bigger heart with a much lower pulse rate

It'll be a proportional by power law. Blood flow is a network, which is larger at an exponential rate in a marginally larger mammal. The larger the animal the slower the heart rate from mouse to blue whale. If you want to go for extra points check out the work on mathematics and biology being done at the Santa Fe Institute.
