Thread: eliminate 50Hz noise in ECG using mathlab

hi i am student.im doing research about development of adaptive digital notch filter for the removal of 50Hz power line noise in ECG.i have a sample of 50Hz noise of ECG..now i need to call the file in mathlab..how must i do it?im very new to mathlab..please help me..

It depends on the file format. The basic ideas are cobverd here.

the ECG signal's noise file is in decimal..i will try first by calling the file with guidelines you sent to me before..thank you..

The file format (if the data can be read in a text editor) is in ASCII probably formatted.

Such a format is unusual for such data, it would ususaly be a stream of bytes the interpretation
of which would depend on how the data was captured, and the file would either have a header
describing the data format or be accompanied by such a file. (Though not always, it is not unknown
for the format to have to be deduced from a statistical anaylsis of the byte values in a file)

i dont really get you..is there any other way?can i just follow the ways in the guidelines for this type of file?
