What is numerical methods ? and what kind of problems we can solve with numerical methods ?

If I need to write in a computer program that do integral of N samples that was samples in differential times dt, can I do it also with numerical methods ?

I know that everyone know that google have all the answers for all the questions in the world and if this was so simple we are need to close all the forums in the world

But because it is not so simple this forum are live I understand that you don't know mathematics methods but maybe anyone here can recommends any specific sites or write any answer for any question that I ask
