Hi, just a quick problem involving Iso Contours and scalar fields.

Draw the isocontours of $\displaystyle \phi = 2x + y$.

I know that $\displaystyle \phi$, in 2 dimensions, defines an iso contour, and that $\displaystyle \Delta \phi = (2,1)$.

So would this just be a plane surface? If so how do I draw the contours?

Sorry if this is a little confusing, just getting to grips with it myself.

2. Isocontours are also known as level sets, according to the wiki on level sets. That means, you're interested in drawing all curves of the form

$\displaystyle \phi=C,$ or $\displaystyle 2x+y=C.$

What do those look like?
