Thread: Linear Systems First Book Recommendation

Just got a textbook on Digital Signal Processing and in the preface it states:

"The assumed background is only a first course on linear systems."

Can anyone here recommend a good introductory text book on linear systems? As both areas are new to me, some direction at this early stage would be greatly appreciated!

Have you had a good year-long course in linear circuits, especially including the Laplace Transform? How about differential equations? If yes to both, you'll probably be ok. If not, I'd recommend Thomas and Rosa for linear circuits, and Zill for differential equations.

Sure. Or you could go with Kreyszig's Advanced Engineering Mathematics as well.

Kreyszig looks a bit too advanced for me yet! Picked up the Zill and the Stroud though. Linear circuits is next on the list. Fairly pricey so I'll have to save up! Thanks again for the tips.
