I've found the paper "Efficient floorplan optimization" of Otten published in 1983 for long time, but I still cannot search it out up to now.

Anybody has read it please help me, I get some stuff. I don't know exactly how to generate shape curve from a soft/hard module. Is it generated by the upper-right vertices of different ways the module laid? If so, with a hard module, there are only 2 points. How does the shape curve representing the module relate to those 2 points?

P/s: I cannot find it on IEEE and Springer. How can I but it?
