I have the following problem.. can anybody help me to solve it.
1. Tensile tests were carried out on two materials:-
type 316 stainless steel
and unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
Each test piece had original dimensions:- diameter = 14 mm
gauge length = 100 mm
Using the test results, draw Stress (N/m˛) versus Strain curves for each material and determine:
(i) The Tensile Strength, 0.1 % Proof Stress and Young’s Modulus for stainless steel (type 316), and
(ii) The Tensile Strength and Young’s Modulus for PVC.
