Hi All,
This is my first post on this forum and i hope that someone can help me out. I am currently doing a HNC Manufacturing Engineering course at college, and i am having a little trouble getting the correct answer using mesh analysis on the following circuit.
This is what i have done so far
10 = 6I1 - 4I2
0 = -4I1 + 4+j3I2
D =
| 6 -4 | = (6*(4+j3))-(-4*-4)
| -4 4+j3 | = 6+j18
D1 =
| 10 -4 | = (10*(4+j3))-(-4*0)
| 0 4+j3 | = 40+j30
D2 =
| 6 10 | = (6*0)-(10*4)
| -4 0 | = 40
I1 =
D1 = 40+j30 = (40+j30)*(6-j18)
D 6+j18 (6+j18)*(6-j18)
I1 =
240+j180-j900-j^2 180
6^2 + 18^2
I1 =
(240+180) -J(-720-180)
360
I1 =
420-j900
360
I1 =
Pol(1.16-j1.5)
I1 =
2.76 /-65'
Now i have spent 4 hours trying this question today and as far as im aware its supposed to be easy (according to the handouts provided from college). I havent done I2 yet as the answer to I1 does not corrospond to the answer on the sheet.
They give us the answer and we need to get the same answer after completing the theory, its good for this reason :-)
I hope someone can help me as i am seriously stuck :-) im going to try the nodal analysis question now and i hope to have better luck.
Thanks all :-)
Jay
