An airplane of mass 8000 kg has a wing area of 400 m2. The speed of air ow is 100 m/sover the top of the wing and 70 m/sbelow the bottom of the wing. Assume the
density of air varies with height as Rho =Rho
0*exp(-z/8000m) with Rho0 = 1.3 kg/m^3. (a) What
is the lift force on the airplane at low altitude? (b) How much load could be carried if

the plane were to y at an altitude of 5000 m?
