Thread: [SOLVED] Row Echelon Form

So, i'm using Maple to work it out, i've done my method by hand also and i get the same answer, however maples guasselim command which works out the REF instantly gives a different answer, definitely similar though. Here is a screen shot.

The answers are equivelent in the bottom one mulltiply row 2 by 1/2 to get







This is twice the row of your matrix so it can be multiplied by 1/2.

Remember the form is not unique unless each non zero row has a leading one.
