    Question Help pleeez

    a techno startup company employs 220 people in total. The company has 5% of staff in HR, a sales and marketing staff which is 30% of the head count and the remainder in R&D. The R&D consists of chemists and biologists. The number of biologists are 21 more than the number of chemists.

    What is the number of biologists in the company?

    Due to a new round of venture capital funding the company increases the total head count by 50%. The R&D now represents 80% of the head count and there was no change in the HR staff. What percentage of the company is the sales and marketing?

    One year later the company decides to have a head count reduction of 30%. R&D and sales and marketing department were affected by the reuction. R&D lost 61 people more than sales and marketing. After the reduction what percentage of employees are in the R&D?

    0.05*220=HR
    0.3*220=S&M
    (1-0.3-0.05)*220=R&D
    Solve for R&D
    R&D=2*BIO-21
    Solve for BIO

    Next part
    New HC= Old HC*1.5
    etc.

    a techno startup company employs 220 people in total. The company has 5% of staff in HR, a sales and marketing staff which is 30% of the head count and the remainder in R&D. The R&D consists of chemists and biologists. The number of biologists are 21 more than the number of chemists.

    Total employees = 220
    HR = 5% of 220 = (0.05)(220) = 11
    S&M = 30% of 220 = (0.30)(220) = 66
    R&D = 220 -(11 +66) = 220 -77 = 143

    Chem +Bio = 143 ---(1)
    Bio = Chem +21 ---(2)

    What is the number of biologists in the company?

    Substitute (2) into (1),
    Chem +(Chem +21) = 143
    2Chem = 143 -21 = 122
    Chem = 122/2 = 61
    Hence,
    Bio = 143 -61 = 82 -------answer.

    ------------------
    Due to a new round of venture capital funding the company increases the total head count by 50%. The R&D now represents 80% of the head count and there was no change in the HR staff. What percentage of the company is the sales and marketing?

    New total employees = 220 plus 50% of 220 = (1.50)(220) = 330
    R&D = 80% of 330 = (0.80)(330) = 264
    HR = still 11
    S&M = ?
    S&M = 330 -(264 +11) = 330 -275 = 55
    55/330 = 0.16667 = 16.67% or, say, 17%
    That means S&M are 17% of the employees ---------answer.

    -------------------------
    One year later the company decides to have a head count reduction of 30%. R&D and sales and marketing department were affected by the reuction. R&D lost 61 people more than sales and marketing. After the reduction what percentage of employees are in the R&D?

    Total reduction = 30% 0f 330 = (0.30)(330) = 99
    R&D and S&M lost 99 altogether ---(3)
    R&D lost (S&M +61) ----(4)

    So, substitute (4) into (3),
    (S&M +61) +S&M lost 99
    2S&M lost 99 -61 = 38
    S&M lost (38/2) = 19
    Hence, R&D lost (19 +61) = 80

    After reduction:
    Newer total employees = 330 -99 = 231
    R&D = 264 -80 = 184
    184/231 = 0.7965 = 79.65% or, say, 80%
    That means R&D still has 80% of the employees. --------answer.
