## Orthonormal Help! (Lin. Alg.)

12) Determine whether the given orthogonal set of vectors is orthonormal. If it is not, normalize the vectors to form an orthonormal set.
(Need help on this one)

[1/2] , [1/2]
[1/2] [-1/2]

I did the dot product which yielded 0. Then I took the dot product of each by its self and it yielded two of the same fractions, 1/2. Then I multiplied each by the magnitude, 1/sqroot(2), and it yielded 1/4 for the dot products of themselves.

q1dotq2 = 0
q1dotq1 = 1/4
q2dotq2 = 1/4

I thought the last two were supposed to by ones...

What did I do wrong?
