So I need to find the distance between the point K=(1 0 -1)T and the line F determined by the following points (1 -2 2)T and (-2 4 -4)T.
I've determing the vector line to be F=(-3 6 -6)T.
I must use projections, but am confused because the only formula I can find anywhere for projections seems to involve two vector lines. Is there a formula for a point and a line in 3D?
Also, I'm supposed to find the nearest point on F to R. Wouldn't that be the same as the first question because using projections finds the perpendicular line and therefore the closest?
