Thread: Linear Algebra Matrix Check

I've just worked out a matrix, and I was looking for somebody to check to see if its right, just so I can have some piece of mind...

I start with:
2 2 2 0
-2 5 2 1
8 1 4 -1

And I believe the Gauss-Jordan Solution is:
1 0 -3/7 -1/4
0 1 4/7 1/7
0 0 0 0

Am I right? Or did I go wrong somewhere?

That is correct. Good work. But notice the 0's in the last row?. What does that tell you?.

I just did it myself, got the exact same solution.

That x3=0? I'm not sure what you mean...
