You need to solve x and y intercept seperately.

First set x = to zero and solve for y:

2*0+4y=8

4y=8

y=2 <---answer for x-intercept

then set y = 0 and solve for x

2x+4*0=8

2x=8

x=4 <---answer for y-intercept

Graph the equation and see if you understand what it is we are solving for. Understand that the equation crosses the x axis when y = 0 and vice versa.
