For x intercept (where the graph crosses x-axis) plug in 0 for y.
for y intercept (where the graph crosses y-axis) plug in 0 for x.

You need to solve x and y intercept seperately.
First set x = to zero and solve for y:
y=2 <---answer for x-intercept
then set y = 0 and solve for x
x=4 <---answer for y-intercept
Graph the equation and see if you understand what it is we are solving for. Understand that the equation crosses the x axis when y = 0 and vice versa.
