Is there a difference between solving a system of equations by the algebraic method and the graphical method? Why?

With an algebraic method, you can hope to solve equations to arbitrary accuracy and also systems with more than two unknowns. On the other hand, graphical methods (for equations with two unknowns) work sometimes when you cannot solve algebraically. Example:
$
x^4 + 2y^4 + x^2y^2 = 2 \,\,\,\,\,
sin(x+y) + cos(2x-y) = 1
$

Impossible to solve algebraically, you can however find approximate solutions graphically.

Numerical (approximate) solution methods are superior to both in this case.
