Thread: flat algebra

Let be the ring of polynomials in one indeterminate over a ring . Prove that is a flat -algebra.

What does it mean flat algebra? There is no such term when I searched for it on the internet.

The book doesn't even define it, but expects you to solve a problem with the term in it.

I guess it's asking you to prove that A[x] is a flat A-module.
