Hello, i have a test tommorrow on this subject and i need to know the answer asap.

Are these vectors linear dependent or independent:

2){(1,1);(1,1);(3,2)}

1) The vectors have 3 components, not two. So your test is (0, 0, 0) = a(1, 1,3) + b(1, 1, 2) + c(x, y, z). Or you could simply say: "How could two vectors possibly be independent? You can draw a line between them!"

2) Are (1, 1) and (1, 1) linearly independent? (i.e (0, 0) = a(1, 1) + b(1, 1))

I think I'm supposed to check their dependency between the 3 vectors and not just those 2?

Both of these questions by simply looking.
1) those two vectors are not multiples of each other. Thus they are l.id.
2) those three vectors are two dimensional so they are l.dep.
