    Show A spans R^3

    Hi,
    I am not sure if I am answering this correctly. I have shown that scalars a,b,c,d are not linear independent..but what does that mean for span??Linear indep isnt neccessary for span right?..
    please check this attachment-has my answer.
    I was sure I knew what span was.I would appreciate feedback.thankyou.
    Show A spans R^3
    A={(1,1,0),(2,0,1),(0,1,3),(1 ,-1 ,-4)}

    Note each bracketed item is a column vector.Show A spans R^3-dsc_0105-1-1-1.jpg
    (sorry about the colour of the photo-somehow it turned pink)..

    Hey n22.

    Your matrix should have four rows instead of 3 (and you should get a row of zeroes for one row after row reduction).
