Calculating the Largest Angle and Direction Between two Planes
I need help for a Real world Application that I need done ASAP,
I Am a Programing a Pc of equipment that needs to calculate a Angle of a Plane.
I have a Shaft that intersects a Cylinder. I need to know the worst angle of the cylinder face(Plane) to the Shaft center line.
I also need to know at what angle around the centre line the worst angle occures at.
The angle of the center line is also changing from sample to sample in one axis
Keep in mind I know NOTHING about Vector Algebra other then that I need to use it for this!..

To get the plane equation, you calculate the normal of the plane and then supply a point to the plane where given a normal n and a point p0, the plane equation is n . (p - p0) = 0 where p is any point on the plane and n is a normal vector with unit length.
I still don't fully understand what the worst angle is though. Can you maybe explain it in mathematical terms (like say an inequality)?
