    Condense the logorithmic expression

    Condense the logorithmic expression as much as possible:


    3 ln x -(1/3) ln y


    The answer is ln x^3 / 3(radical)y


    Can a process be provided as to how one gets to the answer? I think I see what is happening, but could use clarification.

    ln M/N =ln M-N
    ln M^x = xlnM
    apply these rules
    3lnx -1/3 lny = ln x^3/y^1/3

    Actually ln \left ( \frac{M}{N} \right ) = ln(M) - ln(N).

    Typo I assume.
