You first need to get a common denominator, such as $\left ( x+5 \right )\left ( x+6 \right )$
Can you go from there?

3. ## Re: i can't wrap my head around how to do this rational inequalities question :( help

i tried to get common denominators and added up the numerators, i just became stuck on where to go from there... i guess i just don't understand what the question is asking and my teacher just says "figure it out"... like thanks... you're TONS OF HELP. and now i'm freaking out :'(

Think of the problem as $\frac{1-x}{x+5}-\frac{2-x}{x+6}\ge 0~.$
The LCD is $(x+5)(x+6)~.$
