Thread: Math001 Assignment

This is a projectfor my online math class, but I really do need the help as well. I am supposed to post one of the problems that I had and don't really undertand, and get some help from this site. Below is the problem. I have looked through my book and have not yet found and example that wouldhelp me out. I got it very wrong when I made and attempt... please help.... Thanks Ron..... ( ignore the dots between the letters, it was the only way I could get the letters to stay where I needed them.)


1. Just below the number line below, put in the following as close as you can to their correct places: -a, -b, |c|, |d|.

as you can see, your diagram does not align properly.

try drawing it between [code] [ /code] tags (without the space of course) or copy an image of it

You msutr have replied while I was try'n to figure out how to edit it. It should be good now. Thanks for responding though.

ok. i am on a school pc and i do not have access to any drawing utilities, so i will try to describe in words what you must do.

-a is the number that is the opposite of a. thus it is on the other side of 0 the same distance away as a is from 0

likewise for -b

|c| is the absolute value of c. whenever you see this, it basically means magnitude. so |c| is the distance between 0 and c. so put this on your diagram somehow

likewise for |d|
