Do you understand that many people will not just open "Word" files from people they dont' know for fear of viruses. Also since the federal government prevented Microsoft from giving "Word" away with their operating systems, many people do not have it. If you want people to take the trouble to answer your questions you should at least take the trouble yourself to type them in.

More importantly, you just post the problems with no attempt yourself to do them. I, and many people here, will be happy to help you but not do the problem for you. And to help we have to know what you can do, what you know, and where you have difficulty. The first problem gives you a 3 by 3 matrix and an eigenvalue and asks for the eigen-space for that eigenvalue. Do you know what saying that "3" is an eigenvalue means? What equations does that result in. This problem reduces to solving an underdetermined system of 3 equations. Have you got the equations yet?

The second problem requires you to do the same thing for both eigenvalues of a 2 by 2 matrix. Have you found the eigenvalues?
