I need some help/explanation of the following question:

(i) Let G be the group of integers under addition ie. (Z, +). What is gp({1}) ?

(ii) Let G be the group of rational numbers under addition. What is gp({1}) ?

i'm not sure what you mean by gp({x}). if you mean, the group generated by x, then the answer is the same in both cases: (Z,+).
