    Question How do i classify Quadratic forms in 2 variables?

    cases:
    1) positive definite
    2) negative definite
    3) indefinite
    4) semi-definite

    can you give examples?

    First deal with a diagonal representation of these quadratic form. What about the eigenvalues in each case?
