Hi, really new to this, but cant fgure this question out and need yer help on it! thanks!

I'll start you off with the transition matrix. The (1,1) entry is the probability an X voter stays X, the (1,2) entry is the probability an X voter changes to Y, the (2,1) entry is the probability a Y voter changes to X, and the (2,2) entry is the probability a Y voter stays Y :

well that's the hard part, since now all one has to do is calculate 0 = det(xI - A) =

(x - 3/4)(x - 2/3) - (1/12), and solve for x.
