One of the first things you should have learned about matrices is when two matrices are

**equal**. $\displaystyle \begin{bmatrix}a & b \\ c & d\end{bmatrix} = \begin{bmatrix}p & q\\ r & s\end{bmatrix}$ if and only if each of the cooresponding entries are equal. That is, a= p, b= q, c= r, and d= s.
