Thread: order of systems of equations and upper triangular matrix

Hi, if you have the linear equations:

2x + 0y + 3z = 4
4x - 2y + z = 0
3x + y + 2 = 2

How do I cancel out x and y in order to find the upper triangular matrix?

I have only done examples where the 1st x is 1 so not sure what to do here. I tried eliminating z first but ended with the wrong answers.
