I'm trying to make sense of this problem I got wrong on a quiz several weeks ago.
How does one find a residual vector of a linear combination?
I know how to find the linear combination, and I have a target vector -- not sure of what to do next.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like an assessed piece of work.
Yes, as in already corrected (without explanation). I'm trying to find out what I did wrong before I am quizzed on this. I thought that would be compatible with the rules?
I think, now, that my mistake involved forgetting to subtract the vector I found (3, 3, -7, -7) from w, the target vector. (Found this idea on Wiki, of all places). Just wondering about the theory behind this, if anyone can explain the concept.
